We are not allowing any non-essential visitors within the shelter to keep people safe.
The Four Elms Emergency Shelter (Cassells Street) is continuing to intake men, women and children. The shelter is designated for homelessness and for victims of domestic violence. If you are fleeing violence please contact us directly or present yourself at our location.
All clients will be screened prior to entering the main area of the shelter using the most recent COVID-19 screening tool posted on Health Canada’s website. Once assessed all clients will be single bunked (meaning you will have a room to yourself); if you are a family unit you may share a room.
All clients of the shelter are expected to respect social distancing policies.
The shelter provides 24-hour staff supervision, staff support and counseling. We also provide 3 meals a day and snacks, on site laundry, internet and telephone.
We have on staff but not limited to:
1 Youth Outreach Worker
1 Adult Outreach Worker
1 Transitional Housing Worker (domestic violence clients only)
Please note all of our workers are skilled in assisting those in need of housing to find housing and to assist in maintaining your current housing should it be at risk.
We are continuing to staff our 24/7 distress line-705-474-1031, please contact us if you are in need of support.
Our ID clinic is only available to our clients living within the shelter at this time.
